L\u2019\u0152uvre d\u2019Orient supported this school, which needed renovations to provide its 150 students with access to clean restrooms separated by gender. Work was also carried out to improve working conditions for teachers and students. Here is their account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"The renovation has remedied years of neglect. The facilities\u2014including the preschool classrooms, the office, the multipurpose room, and the restrooms\u2014are now fully functional and provide an environment conducive to spiritual and social activities."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the Apostolic Vicariate of Gambella and the parish community of Metu, we would like to express our deep gratitude to L\u2019\u0152uvre d\u2019Orient. Its support has been essential to the restoration of our facilities. The renovation of the infrastructure\u2014particularly the security fence, the roof, and the plumbing systems\u2014has significantly contributed to improving the learning and teaching environment at the Catholic preschool in Metu. Thanks to your partnership, our students and teachers can focus on education in a safe, dry, and dignified setting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A TEACHER\u2019S TESTIMONY: \u201cBefore the renovations, we faced many challenges, especially during the rainy season, because leaks in the ceiling made it difficult to keep the classrooms and equipment dry. The repairs have completely transformed our daily environment. Thanks to a secure fence and modernized facilities, I feel much more at ease and can focus fully on the children\u2019s development. It\u2019s a joy to teach in a space that now reflects the care and quality we strive to provide in our teaching.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TESTIMONY from a parent: \u201cMy child used to worry about the old restrooms and the dilapidated parts of the school. Now, he comes home talking about how clean the school is. As a parent, seeing the new security fence gives me great peace of mind. He can\u2019t wait to go to school every morning because the classrooms are bright and brand-new. This project didn\u2019t just renovate the buildings; it has instilled a new sense of pride in our young students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
