Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident; sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum. <img class='alignnone size-medium wp-image-780' src='https:\/\/www.oeuvre-orient.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/ba29a44760e4dd67b40afafa6fcd848c431ee1b0-300x200.jpg' alt='' width='300' height='200' \/><\/p>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019\u0152uvre d\u2019Orient, represented by its Director General Hugues de Woillemont, was invited by the President of the French Republic to attend historic meetings.<br>Since the start of the civil war, and despite the lack of diplomatic relations between the two countries, L\u2019\u0152uvre d\u2019Orient has never ceased to support the Syrian people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organization has continued to support projects carried out by Christian communities to serve the entire Syrian population, regardless of ethnicity or religion. <strong>As a result, 34 million euros have been distributed since 2017 to support 1,125 projects on the ground in Syria.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this visit, \u0152uvre d\u2019Orient was able to discuss the <strong>issue of security<\/strong> with the authorities: what security guarantees should be provided to all the ethnic and religious groups in Syria so that they can continue to live on their land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the closed-door meeting at the airport between the President of the French Republic, local church officials, and the Executive Director of L\u2019\u0152uvre d\u2019Orient, issues related to education were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019\u0152uvre d\u2019Orient has asked the Syrian authorities to return to Christian communities the Christian schools that were confiscated in the 1960s.
