Broaden horizons. Raise awareness. Inspire engagement.

To open young people’s eyes to the world, help them discover the richness of Eastern Christianity, foster their sense of brotherhood, and encourage them to become active contributors to the common good: this is the mission that L’Œuvre d’Orient wishes to share with schools and chaplaincy groups.

Below are suggestions suitable for all levels, designed to help young people understand, connect, get involved, and build relationships.

Understanding

Discover the history, realities, and challenges facing Eastern Christians.

  1. Programs aligned with school curricula and pastoral care
    Programs tailored for students from elementary school through preparatory classes
    Educational resources (slide shows, videos, worksheets, etc.) that can be used independently.

Topics covered:

  • History of Christianity; the richness and diversity of Eastern Christian communities
  • The current situation of Eastern Christians
  • Geopolitical issues (for high school students)
  • Issues of citizenship
  • The role of Eastern Christians in healthcare facilities and schools, regardless of religious affiliation
  • The Role of Eastern Christians as Peacemakers and Bearers of Hope

Get Involved

Take part in a concrete act of solidarity to support L'Œuvre d'Orient’s projects and empower students to become active participants in a collective effort.

– List of possible solidarity initiatives: rice bowl drive, raffle, charity run, etc.

– Specific projects in the country of your choice, with photos

– Follow-up and feedback on how the funds are used after your donation, including a photo report.

Build Relationships

  • Pray for our brothers and sisters in the East using a prayer booklet provided
  • Establish an international partnership with a French-speaking Christian school in Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, or the Holy Land to promote exchanges among students and the discovery of other cultures
    In many countries in the Middle East, Christian schools are special places where students of all faiths grow and learn together.

Designed to be easily implemented, these proposals help support young people in their personal, spiritual, and civic development. They invite young people to discover the world, to encounter others, to grow in fellowship, and to make a concrete commitment to serving the common good.
