Background on the Situation in Ukraine
The war on Ukrainian soil is causing significant human and material losses, as well as the internal and external displacement of many people.
Whether they are displaced or not, Ukrainians need humanitarian aid to meet their needs for medical care, food, and hygiene products, among other things.
Transportation and electricity infrastructure in Ukrainian cities has been damaged, further limiting access to the Ukrainian government’s health, humanitarian, and social services needed to respond to the crisis.
The Emergency Fund for Ukrainian Families
The goal of this fund is to provide assistance as close as possible to the affected populations by working directly with families and communities, either in Ukraine or in neighboring countries that have served as refuges for displaced persons.
A member of Œuvre d’Orient in Romania has already helped support the reception of displaced persons, organized by the Congregation of the Mother of God. This is a waystation where families can rest, eat, and receive medical care before continuing their journey. Œuvre d’Orient has covered the operating costs, particularly for water and electricity, to ensure that the shelter can remain open.
The Greek Catholic Church is widely mobilized
Funds for Ukrainian Greek Catholic communities, enabling the operation of shelters for displaced persons, support for schools in western Ukraine, and chaplains on the front lines.

Families are suffering from the prolonged war, and their resources are running out. Winter will be very harsh because infrastructure has been permanently weakened and attacks continue. Your help is needed now more than ever.
Our goals for this project
- Assistance for Ukrainian families and communities,

- Purchase of high-capacity batteries (600 to 2,000 € per battery).
- Construction of shelters in church basements.
- Distribution of food packages and basic necessities (toothpaste, diapers, soap, etc.).
