Lord Jesus, You who revealed to Your servant, Blessed Flavien Michel Melki, the faith of the Church, to which he devoted himself unreservedly, You who inspired him with the courage to proclaim, tirelessly, the Good News of the Gospel to Christians in southeastern Turkey, You who sustained him through persecutions and trials, for the unity of the Syriac Church,
We ask You, Lord Jesus, to accept the prayers of those who call upon You in the name of Your servant, Bishop Michel, who died for Your love.
Grant the Christians of the East the grace to be united in the Faith and to form one day, as You have willed, “one flock under the guidance of one shepherd.” Strengthen them in unity and charity. Sustain them, Lord, through life’s trials. Make them faithful to Your name, to Your Gospel, and to Your Church, following the example of our blessed one who proclaimed, “I lay down my life for my sheep,” for the glory of Your Holy Name, in the unity of the Father and the Holy Spirit.
