L’Œuvre d’Orient welcomes the appointment of Charles Personnaz as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Holy See.
It extends its warmest congratulations to him and thanks him for all the remarkable work he has done to promote the culture and heritage of Eastern Christians. In this regard, it particularly commends the exemplary partnership forged around the exhibition “Eastern Christians” at the Arab World Institute in 2017, as well as the report submitted to the President of the Republic in 2021 on strengthening France’s efforts to protect the heritage of the Middle East and support the educational network of Christian communities in the region.
Charles Personnaz remains president of the Fonds des écoles d’Orient, a joint fund of the French government and the Œuvre d’Orient that supports French-language schools in the Middle East.
L’Œuvre d’Orient wishes him a successful and fruitful tenure at the French Embassy to the Holy See and looks forward to continuing its close and fruitful relationship with the French Embassy to the Holy See.
