Today, L’Œuvre d’Orient was able to charter and escort the first humanitarian aid convoy to Debel in southern Lebanon in two weeks, due to the intensity of the fighting. A truck carrying 30 metric tons of food and hygiene kits was delivered thanks to the support of the CMA-CGM Foundation.
In the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Paolo Borgia, of Caritas Lebanon, and escorted by UNIFIL, this is the first humanitarian convoy to reach this Christian village, where residents are cut off from the rest of the country, deprived of resources, and threatened with extinction by the surrounding fighting, which continues despite the ceasefire.
This is the seventh truck that L’Œuvre d’Orient has chartered and escorted to southern Lebanon since the start of the conflict.
