On February 8, the Israeli government took another step toward the de facto annexation of the West Bank by extending its control to areas

These decisions undermine the Oslo Accords and the prospect of a two-state solution.
Under the guise of administrative and property rights, and through land reform that facilitates the expansion of settlements, this policy further fragments Palestinian territory.
According to Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, settlement activity reached its highest level since 2017 in 2025. More than 500,000 settlers now live among three million Palestinians, amid violence, forced displacement, and destruction.
The Christian presence in the Holy Land continues to decline in the face of these increasingly untenable conditions.
