L’Œuvre d’Orient delivered two humanitarian aid convoys to villages in southern Lebanon—to Qlayaa and Marjayoum on Wednesday, March 11, and to Rmeich and Ain Ebel on Monday, March 16— one 15-metric-ton truck and two 25-metric-ton trucks.
Accompanied on both trips by the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon, His Excellency Paolo Borgia, as well as by UNIFIL and, today, UN peacekeepers, L’Œuvre d’Orient was able to provide essential food items—rice, flour, dairy products, pasta, shampoo, soap, etc.
Residents of Christian villages in southern Lebanon refuse to leave, for fear that they will not be able to return to their villages. The presence of the nuncio at their side sends a strong message, giving them the courage to continue fighting to keep their land.
