[Press Release] L’Œuvre d’Orient Expresses Concern Over the Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

L’Œuvre d’Orient has taken note of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the living conditions of its inhabitants. The Armenian people have suffered greatly throughout their history, and especially during the 1915 genocide. The Armenian people have earned, through their blood, the right to live in peace and freedom.

It is clear that there was an attempt to drive the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh from their historic homeland. The Armenian residents were driven from their homes, their villages, and their churches.

L’Œuvre d’Orient calls for Nagorno-Karabakh to regain its entire historic territory within secure borders.

L’Œuvre d’Orient calls for Nagorno-Karabakh to be granted a process of self-determination similar to the one established in Kosovo, under international supervision.

The residents of Nagorno-Karabakh were moved by the words of French President Emmanuel Macron.

L’Œuvre d’Orient is calling on France and the European Union to reassess the practical assistance provided to these residents.
